Vijay Deverakonda is currently promoting Liger for which actor has been getting attention from the massive fan following in the country. Co-starring Ananya Panday, the film is already one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Despite the popularity, the South actor’s mother decided to hold a pooja of sorts at their Hyderabad residence to receive the blessings of the Almighty and got sacred bands for the team.

Vijay Deverakonda posted a series of photos from the Pooja that was being held for the success of Liger. Just like every other mother, the actor’s mother too has been praying for the film and she was also seen tying the sacred bands on the wrists of Vijay and Ananya Panday. The actor took to Twitter to share, “This whole month touring across India and receiving so much love already felt like God's blessing! But Mummy feels we needed his protection :) So Poooja ???????? and sacred Bands for all of us ???? Now she will sleep in peace while we continue our tour ????❤️ #Liger”

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday have been on a ‘Fandom Tour’ across the country where they will be seen visiting several cities including North and South. In the Warangal Tour in Telangana, Vijay had spoken about the love he received during the promotions saying, “Wherever I went in India, people showered a lot of love on me. People came in unexpected numbers. I don't understand why they are showing so much love, but whatever is happening, it actually started here (in Telugu films). I will never forget the love you showered. On August 25, your love should be returned. Thanks to all audience. I love you.”

Speaking of Liger, the film will mark Vijay’s debut in Bollywood. Directed by popular South filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, it is also the actor and the actress’ first Pan India film. Also starring Ramya Krishnan as Vijay’s mother, the film will also see American boxing legend Mike Tyson in a pivotal role. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film is slated to release on August 25 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
