Jawan was released on September 7 to a blockbuster response, as expected. Social media is filled with videos of people having a blast in cinemas while watching the Shah Rukh Khan starrer. But nothing compares to the madness that ensues in Gaiety-Galaxy aka G7, the iconic single-screen complex of Mumbai. The response here is so overwhelming that it’s become common for celebrities to pay a visit to check the audience's reaction with their own eyes. Jawan’s director Atlee couldn’t control himself and he visited Gaiety-Galaxy to see how his labour of love is being received.

This writer was present in the 6:00 pm show of Jawan in Galaxy. During the intermission, the ad was paused, and Atlee suddenly made an appearance in the stall. He got up on the stage. The moviegoers, present in the theatre, instantly recognized him and went forward to greet him and click his pictures and videos. Atlee asked movie watchers if they were enjoying the film. Several of them shouted “Yes”. Some even said “Love you, Atlee sir” in return. As expected, the filmmaker was all smiles.

Outside the auditorium, he spoke to a few digital channels. When asked about the reaction, Atlee said, "I love everyone, and everyone is loving back. And everyone loves Shah Rukh sir.”

When prodded about the incredible response to the film, he humbly stated, "It’s all because of Shah Rukh sir. I have just done my part." As for how he’s feeling, he only said, "I am happy. I am very much happy."

A YouTuber commented Atlee that Salman Khan fans want him to work with the superstar. Atlee replied, "I would love to work with everyone. Definitely, I would (love to work with him).”

Next, he was asked to talk about music director Anirudh and Shah Rukh Khan. Atlee quickly stated, "Anirudh is the rockstar. Now he's the rockstar for the whole of India. Shah Rukh Khan is the god of mass!"

Lastly, Atlee was asked about the absence of Thalapathy Vijay’s cameo in Jawan. Before the release, there were speculations that the Bigil (2019) superstar had a special appearance. On this, Atlee said, "We will come back with something soon."
