Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan’s dance-off on ‘Ami Je Tomar’ from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which was recently out, has made a lot of heads turn. As far as dance face-offs are concerned, before them there was Madhuri Dixit with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Devdas and Vyjayanthimala with Helen in the film Prince.

Director Anees Bazmee can’t get over the experience. He said, “Tell me, sir, when was the last time you saw a classical Indian dance performance in our cinema. Correct me if I am wrong but it was Vidya Balanji in the first Bhool Bhulaiyaa. And that was seventeen years ago. Now, when Vidyaji is joined by Madhuriji, it was a dream come true. We were all watching open-mouthed. Somewhere we knew history was being made.”

Anees Bazmee feels honoured to have shot the jugalbandi between the two dancing divas. He added, “It was surreal, historic. We all know Madhuriji and Vidyaji are expert dancers. But the chemistry they have created on screen… main kya bolun? Aag lag jayegi, sir. Although Kartik Aaryan was not needed for that shoot, he was there quietly watching the two divas dancing, mesmerized. For all of us, this experience is unmatchable.”
