"Acting is still something that I'm not used to I think when I sit back and see my life unfold"
It's been a surreal journey so far in the Indian Film Industry. More so, my move from the South Indian cinema to Bollywood. It's been close to six years that I've been acting and it's still something that I'm not used to. Sometimes I sit back and see my life unfold. It's been a roller coaster ride so far and I don't think I could've done anything else besides acting now that I'm thinking (laughs).
"Language is the only barrier that I've crossed in my move from South to Bollywood"
Everyone has a different approach to moving from the South Indian cinema to the Hindi speaking cinema. I've never seen it like this. I mean, there are so many films made in different regional languages, it's unbelievable. Language is the only barrier that I've crossed. The only thing that gets the people a little more unnerved is that Bollywood reaches out to wider audiences. I will be giving the same dedication to Bollywood what I've been giving to South Indian cinema. -

First things first! I have to thank Puri Jagannadh for inviting me to a private screening of his film Nenu Naa Rakshasi. What happened after that, I thank God! So when I saw Ileana D'Cruz for the first time on screen, my mind told me, 'She is too beautiful to play a role of substance', but boy she nailed her part in the film! Her beauty is irrefutable. Her eyes tell a thousand stories. He lips fuller (and she doesn't pout). Her hair like satin silk. Her voice is like the harmony of angels. And immediately after talking to D'Cruz, I have a dream. In my dream, I'm running my own magazine and every month I interview our sexy cover model in person - Ileana D'Cruz. My scenario also has the two of us alone on a yacht in the middle of the ocean during the Q&A, sipping champagne out of long flutes and laughing. 'Cruzing' along, you can say that she's the reason for my dark circles. I haven't got a proper sleep Ileana! You listening? What more? She's making a debut that's nothing short of phenomenal - opposite India's most eligible bachelor Ranbir Kapoor. So after all this, I'm left with only one option - Maussiji....suicide! But before I jump, here's the reason - Ileana D'Cruz. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent talks to the dream girl Ileana D'Cruz about her debut film Barfee, Ranbir Kapoor, her favourite Hindi film and why she thinks that language is the only barrier that she's crossed in her move from South to Bollywood. All this and more in this Bollywood Hungama exclusive!

Every film I've done is a risk in itself. I've gone with a pure gut instinct in all the films I've chose to work in, whether it's the co-stars, my director, and big budget or small, it could be anything. The script is the soul of the film and I go with the flow when I read it. If it takes me by surprise, I do the film or else I leave it.
"I like the fact that I could move my sister to tears after she saw Nenu Naa Rakshasi"
Can you believe it that I still haven't seen Nenu Naa Rakshasi because I'm working non-stop. It's a shame that I haven't seen my own film. But my sister saw the film and the best thing about her watching was the fact that I could move her to tears (laughing). She came out crying. But quite a few people did like the film because it was a different concept all together. Nenu Naa Rakshasi is a film very close to my heart. -

"Ranbir Kapoor was destined to act. He is simply splendid"
Whether I am a fan of Ranbir Kapoor is a difficult question you are asking me (laughing). I've have admired actors but Ranbir's a born actor. He is simply splendid. I have watched some of his films and I have to say that he knows his craft quite well. Ranbir was destined to act. I am not a Ranbir fan but I love his work. The Barfee crew is amazing to work with including my director and my co-actors. I hope it continues that way till we shoot (laughing).
"I've grown up watching Amar Akbar Anthony"
My favourite Bollywood film is Amar Akbar Anthony. I've been watching that film with my mother ever since I was a kid. I've grown up watching Amar Akbar Anthony you can say (laughs). From the new ones I loved No One Killed Jessica. What an amazing performance by Vidya and Rani. Both roles blew me away.
"I'd love to be a part of an ensemble film"
I am not an actress who'd say that I want a solo role with the hero of the film. I'd love to be a part of an ensemble film. It's all about the experience and experimenting. I love a new kind of film and coming with it its challenges.
