Believe it or not, as many as 40,000 diyas were lit for a karwa chouth song for producers B.L. Saboo and Poonam Jhawers AANCH. Director Rajesh Singh picturised the said number on the banks of Raj Ghat, the holy river of Varanasi.
The makers lined the bank with 40,000 earthen diyas and it took almost 150 people to light the lamps, running almost three kilometres in length. The song was picturised on Ayesha Julka, Sharbani Mukherji and Poonam herself, under the supervision of choreographer Bhushan Lakhandri, while the camera was perched on a houseboat, moving along the shore.
After trying her hand at acting, Poonam (MOHRA) Jhawer has turned producer with AANCH, which stars Nana Patekar, Suchindra Bali (Vyjayantimalas son) and Paresh Rawal essaying pivotal roles.
