CBFC retains chaddi sequence in Freaky Ali

 

Central Board of Film Certification's recent cuts in films have left a few baffled, especially the decision concerning the portrayal of innerwear in films. Of late, the makers of Baar Baar Dekho were left surprised when the CBFC asked them to chop off a bra sequence from the film. And now, a scene portraying male undergarments however has been retained in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Freaky Ali.CBFC retains chaddi sequence in Freaky Ali

 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the role of an undergarments salesman in Freaky Ali and a scene has the actor selling variety of them to a customer. While the scene has been retained with no cuts, yet another scene in Baar Baar Dekho which involves the display of bra has been chopped off by the CBFC. Some have not only been questioning the methods of the board but are left wondering as to why men undergarments get a privilege compared to that of women. Adding to the confusion was when the CBFC decided to allow the bra sequence in Jackie Chan's Skiptrace wherein an international film got the permission to pull off a scene that wasn't allowed in a mainstream commercial Bollywood film. Further, Freaky Ali has been granted a U/A certificate with no cuts.

 

Baar Baar Dekho stars Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif, while Freaky Ali stars Arbaaz Khan, Amy Jackson among others. The two are slated to release on September 9.
