Dhawal Jatania, Rupen Aamlani and Hiren Gandhi of Ashtavinayak arrested

In January 2013, we had reported that Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd, head honcho Dhillin Mehta had been arrested at the international airport on the basis of a case filed against him for unpaid dues. Now we hear that the EOW (Economic Offences Wing) has arrested Dhawal Jatania, Rupen Aamlani and Hiren Gandhi.

These arrests come in conjunction to the earlier case filed against the production house that had misappropriated the funds collected post raising and IPO under the pretext of producing films. In an inquiry into the same, it was found that the production house had appropriated the funds to bogus companies that were set up by them. This inquiry came after a complaint was filed in the Bombay High court by film financier Tejpal Shah accusing the firm of not giving him his due of Rs. 41 crores for production work.
