Fawad Khan reveals he suffers from diabetes

He may be the new chocolate boy in town, especially with his latest release Kapoor & Sons doing well at the box office. But Pakistani import Fawad Khan, who in the past has made it known that he feels rather nervous with the female attention he gets, recently revealed that he suffers from a common yet incurable disease.

Speaking about his disease in a TV interview Fawad stated that he is a diabetic and suffers from Type 1 diabetes which is incurable. Further talking about the same he added that while a cure is definitely on the way, currently he is insulin dependent.

 

Later talking about how he got to know of the disease, which incidentally is said to be genetic, Fawad Khan added that it was during his childhood that he would go swimming in a pool where there were pipes with raw and unfinished concrete on it. Once, while he was there standing against these concrete pipes, he hurt himself, but paying no heed to the scratches jumped back into the swimming pool. However since the water had not been treated that day he later developed an infection and lost 10 kilos, after which he was diagnosed as suffering from diabetes.

 

However, though the actor is currently still pretty dependent on insulin he has managed to procure a wireless pump, which calculates the amount of insulin that would be required when details of his diet are entered.
