Karan Johar prepones release of Akshay Kumar starrer Brothers

A while back, Karan Johar had made headlines for his decision to remake the Hollywood film Warriors and casting Akshay Kumar and Siddharth Malhotra in the film. Now we hear that the remake of Warriors that was initially scheduled to release on October 2, 2015 has been preponed. With this change in date, the film will now release on July 31, 2015.

Confirming the change in the date, Karan Johar says, "The team of Brothers is truly forging ahead....the pace and energy of the shoot has been incredible...we have actually decided to prepone our release to July 31st..."

 

Interestingly, the new release date of the remake had already been booked for Akshay Kumar's Singh Is Bling that will be directed by Prabhu Dheva. However Akshay, apart from being a common factor (that of lead actor) in both films, and also being Karan's friend, readily accepted to switch release dates.

 

Further talking about the makers Singh Is Bling, Karan Johar added, "Ashvini and Akshay have graciously given us that date and we have given them our previous date of October 2nd...in days of delays and strictly professional dealings this situation is truly a fraternity feature and validates the fact that strong relationships can exist even today."
