Kareena to star in Hindi remake of Arundhati?

After Heroine, Kareena Kapoor has reportedly bagged yet another female centric role. Kareena will be seen essaying the role of Queen Arundhati in the Hindi remake of 2009 Telugu blockbuster Arundhati.

 

Arundhati is a fantasy action thriller set in ancient times with breathtaking graphics and technology. It is said that Sonu Sood, who played the villain in the original will essay the same role in the Hindi version as well.

Anushka Shetty, who played the role of Arundhati in the original bagged many awards and tremendous accolades for her performance and became one of the top most heroines of Telugu films.

 

Gemini Kiran, who bought the rights for the Hindi remake, confirms that they have approached Kareena to play the lead. He will be co-producing the film with Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

 

Earlier Rani Mukerji and Katrina Kaif were also approached for the role but none of them could do the role due to date issues.
