Mallika's brother detained at Mumbai airport and booked under FEMA

Mallika Sherawat's brother, Vikram Lamba, is the latest to be detained at Mumbai airport for carrying foreign currency beyond permissible limit and not declaring dutiable goods. He was coming to Mumbai from London via Dubai on an Emirates flight.

 

Vikram was detained by Custom officials at Mumbai International airport today when he was passing through the green channel after he landed. He has been booked under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and is still in detention and being questioned at the airport.

He was reportedly carrying branded goods and foreign currencies worth approximately Rs. 6 lakhs.

 

Earlier, Minissha Lamba was detained at the airport after undeclared jewellery was allegedly found in her possession when she was returning from Cannes. Later, Bipasha Basu was detained and let off after she paid a penalty of Rs 13,000 for carrying undeclared accessories and cosmetics.
