My Brother Nikhil wins award at Milan Film Festival

Bollywood film My Brother Nikhil has won the Audience Choice award at the Milan Gay and Lesbian film festival. The film which stars Sanjay Suri and Juhi Chawla deals with sensitive issue of HIV affected patients and also homosexuality. The film is also being nominated for TMG Global Media awards. Talking about the success of his debut film on an international level, director Onir said that the film is very special to him and its nice that a film like this is getting a deserving position. While Onirs first film received these international honors earlier this month, back home his upcoming film Bas Ek Pal will be screened at the eighth Osian Cinefan Festival to be held in New Delhi. The film that stars Sanjay Suri, Urmila Matondkar, Jimmy Shergill and Juhi Chawla will figure in the Indian Competing category of the festival showcasing unreleased films made in 2005-2006. Bas Ek Pal is very different from My Brother Nikhil. It is a colorful film which is about relationships between different characters and how a particular incidence brings them all together. The film is due to release on August 25.
