Nepal honours evergreen Devsaab

Nepal will host its first National Film Festival next month scheduled tentatively from July 11-17. The festival will honour Indian film star and director Dev Anand for his contribution to the Himalayan Kingdom's film industry. The festival will pay compliments to Devsaab with a Special National Film Award instituted this year. Last month, prominent members of Nepal's Film Development Board that is organizing the film festival, went to invite the actor-director, an overwhelmed Dev Anand accepted the invitation immediately. The actor's ties with Nepal date back to more than three decades, he was a friend of late King Mahendra and he had stayed in Kathmandu during his marriage and coronation.
