Randeep Hooda gets felicitated in Australia

Randeep Hooda who is gearing for a handful of releases this year including a biopic (Sarbjit), recently received an honour from the South Asian community in Australia. The actor, who played the role of a real life gangster Charles Sobraj in Main Aur Charles, recently visited Melbourne city for a function where he was felicitated.

The NGO, South Asian Public Affairs Council (SAPAC) conferred the actor with an achievement award for establishing himself in the Indian film industry. Very few may be aware that Randeep has a special connect with Australia. The actor not only spent his graduation years as an international student in the country but he also bagged his big break in Bollywood for his Australian accent. For the uninitiated, he debuted with the offbeat Mira Nair directorial Monsoon Wedding in 2001.

 

Besides this, Hooda has also extended his support to become the ambassador for the 'Bully Zero Australia' campaign and even launched the NGO 'Nobody Dies Hungry' founded by the Australia based Indian Aloke Kumar.
