Veteran actor Dara Singh, who had been battling for his life since the last few days, passed away early this morning. The actor was 84 years old.

Dara Singh had suffered severe brain damage following a cardiac arrest last week. He was admitted at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital since July 7 and was discharged only yesterday as his family wanted his final moments to be spent at home.

Dara Singh started his career as a professional pehelwan (wrestler) before becoming an actor in films. He is also remembered for his role as Lord Hanuman in the epic TV series Ramayan. He has acted in over 100 films and was last seen in Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met.
