Yash Chopra on Berlin Film Fest jury
Joggers' Park, produced by Subhash Ghai will have its world premiere on September 12. The film was produced in 38 days at a cost of approximately Rs 2.5 crore.
In a special screening held at Golden Square in London, it was greeted with a thundering applause.
At the London screening, Ghai dedicated the film to director Anant Balani, who died a week ago. The movie stars Perizaad Zorabian, Victor Banerjee, Divya Dutta, Anant Mahadevan, Abha Dhulia and Hiten Tejwani in key roles. The film is set at Joggers' Park in Bandra [Mumbai] and has an interesting storyline. It was shot at the actual Joggers' Park in Bandra and various other locales of Mumbai. The movie has six songs in all, of which two are in English.
It is the continuation of the trend in Bollywood of making low budget movies appealing more to discerning audiences in urban India and the Indian diaspora overseas.
