83 Box Office: Ranveer Singh starrer 83 has a low first week

With no competition from any new film this weekend, courtesy postponement of Jersey; each of the three biggies in the running would benefit to some extent. Of course Delhi not allowing theatres to operate is a spanner in the plans and would impact collections to a good degree, especially during the New Year season when footfalls are better, one has to take the best from what’s available.

 

83 Box Office: Ranveer Singh starrer 83 has a low first week

 

83 started slow and then even though it had growth on Saturday, post that the scenario didn’t quite change dramatically. In fact had the weekdays stayed at least in Rs. 8-10 crores range, there would have been a reason to expect continued footfalls in the second week as well. However, that didn’t quite happen and now the collections stand at Rs. 71.87 crores. Frankly, this had to be better and ideally Rs. 100 crores milestone should already have been reached.

 

However, with the release of Jersey being postponed the Kabir Khan directorial 83 has an extra week at the box office. Though trade predictions do not paint a rosy image, the business of the film will likely add a little more to its overall collections.
