BO Report Card: Analyzing the success of Satyagraha

 

In this edition of Box Office Report Card, we analyze the success of the recently released Prakash Jha film Satyagraha. Belonging to a serious political genre, the film's success will obviously be limited to a very niche audience; however Satyagraha, has managed to register the 6th best Opening Day figures on 2013 releases.

If that wasn't enough, the film ranks 5th w.r.t. opening weekend figures amongst the 2013 releases with a collection of Rs. 39.12 crores coming in just behind biggies like Chennai Express (Rs. 100.42 crore), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (Rs. 62.11 crores), Race 2 (Rs. 51.53 crore) and Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara (Rs. 40 crores).
