Box Office: Ek Villain is Sidharth, Shraddha, Mohit's biggest opener till date

 

Ek Villain was one of the most anticipated releases of 2014. The film starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh and directed by Mohit Suri had immense buzz going for it, thanks to its super hit music and unique marketing.

As expected, the film opened huge on Friday collecting Rs. 16.72 cr on its Opening Day. In this Box Office report, we look at the standing of Ek Villain compared to the Opening Day figures of the previous releases of actors Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor and director Mohit Suri.

 

Ek Villain has got the highest Opening day collection compared to Sidharth Malhotra's earlier releases till date. This film is followed by Student of the Year (Rs. 7. 48 cr) in second position and Hasee Toh Phasee (Rs. 4. 90 cr) in third position.

 

Ek Villain is also Shraddha Kapoor's biggest opening film, followed by Aashiqui 2 (Rs. 6.25 cr) and Luv Ka The End (Rs. 60 lacs).

 

Mohit Suri, who has directed quite a few films till date, has never had a success as big as Ek Villain. This is till date his biggest opening film, followed by Murder 2 (Rs. 7.10cr) and Aashiqui 2 (Rs. 6.25 cr).
