Box Office: Hindi Medium goes past Queen, now aims for Rs. 70 crore

 

Saket Chaudhary directed Hindi Medium is going from strength to strength. After its fantastic Week One run when the Irrfan Khan starrer and Saba Qamar was gaining quite some positive word of mouth coming its way, it was predicted here that the film could well be aiming for a lifetime that would go past that of Queen [Rs. 62 crore]. The Kangana Ranaut starrer too had followed a similar trajectory where after a slow start, it had managed consistent collections on a daily basis, hence registering a healthy number in its lifetime run.Box Office: Hindi Medium goes past Queen, now aims for Rs. 70 crore

 

Now Hindi Medium has managed something even better, what with Rs. 62.75 crore already in its kitty till the fourth Monday.

 

The film is still registering good occupancy on day to day basis and carries enough ammunition to come close to the Rs. 65 crore mark by the time the fourth week is through. This, when it battled competition from Half Girlfriend on the day of release, survived the good opening of Sachin - A Billion Dreams a week later, shrugged past the onslaught of a dozen odd films the week after and then stayed strong even over the weekend gone by when Raabta and The Mummy took away majority of screens.

 

Coming week sees only one prominent release, Bank Chor, and this means Hindi Medium would continue to have its loyal audience give it a dekko. The Dinesh Vijan and T-Series film is set to come close to the Rs. 68 crore mark after that week and while Tubelight would take away majority of screens then, it would be interesting to see where does it eventually conclude in its pursuit for the Rs. 70 crore lifetime.
