Box Office: Housefull 3 enters 100 Crore Club today, TE3N goes down, DLKK is a disappointment

 

On its 13th day today, Sajid-Farhad's Housefull 3 is entering the 100 crore club. The Sajid Nadiadwala film brought in Rs. 2.05 crore more on Tuesday and with that the collections now stand at Rs. 99.65 crore. With this, Eros has seen yet another biggie of it scoring huge at the Box Office. Last year was quite remarkable for the corporate house when it scored four major wins in the form of Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bajirao Mastani and Welcome Back apart from other hits. In 2016, they have started their big ticket campaign with Housefull 3 and the film's success has set the momentum for many more biggies in the pipeline like Dishoom, Baar Baar Dekho, Rock On 2 and Shivaay, to name a few.

 

Meanwhile, TE3N has seen a constant decline at the Box Office. After a poor Monday, the film couldn't sustain well on Tuesday either and brought in Rs. 1.35 crore more. With this, the film stands just around Rs. 13.88 crore mark. This is a very disappointment run for the film as now even a lifetime total of 20 crore looks tough. Yes, the film had its flaws but still one expected somewhat better footfalls for the Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan starrer. Flop.

 

Second new release of the week, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, didn't have much going for it either. Though there was some sort of improvement over the weekend, it was just on relative scale since absolute numbers were way too low to give it any sort of a chance. The film's staggered released, courtesy frequent change in release dates and also change in hands meant that there wasn't much plan in sight. Though the songs were good and the promo too promised an interesting entertainer, the audience just wasn't interested in the Randeep Hooda-Kajal Agarwal starrer. As a result, Tuesday brought in further 40 lacs and the total stands around Rs. 4.65 crore. Big flop.
