Box Office: Sanju nears 100 cr. NETT in the Mumbai circuit; is 7th highest all time grosser

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju has been virtually unstoppable at the domestic box office. Released across 4000 screens the Rajkumar Hirani directorial that is based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt was well received by the critics and audience alike. After fast becoming one of the highest opening day, opening weekend and opening week grossers Sanju has continued to do stellar business despite new releases hitting screens.

Looking closer at the business of Sanju it is interesting to note that a bulk of the film’s domestic collections have been generated from one territory alone. In fact the total collections of Sanju within the Mumbai circuit are close to Rs. 100 cr nett. Currently pegged at Rs. 90.01 cr Sanju has become the seventh highest all-time grosser within the Mumbai circuit. However, the collections of the film do not manage to surpass the business of previous releases like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 193.15 cr, Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 109.08 cr, PK that collected Rs. 105.2 cr, Dangal that collected Rs. 104.22 cr, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 99.34 cr, and Sultan that had collected Rs. 90.35 cr.

If that wasn’t enough, when the business of Sanju within the Mumbai circuit is compared to the collections of previous releases in 2018 in the same territory, Sanju leads the list as the highest grosser. In fact, Sanju has far surpassed the collections of earlier releases like Padmaavat that collected Rs. 81.29 cr, Race 3 that collected Rs. 48.87 cr, Baaghi 2 that collected Rs. 46.18 cr, Raazi that collected Rs. 42.09 cr, and Raid that collected Rs. 34.55 cr.

As of now, with the film still drawing in the multiplex going audience in this territory, predictions state that while the business of Sanju within the Mumbai circuit will cross the Rs. 100 cr mark. Now all that remains to be seen is whether Snaju manages to become one of the top three highest all time grossers within the Mumbai circuit.
