Drishyam 2 Box Office: Film collects Rs. 58.82 cr in Week 2; emerges as fourth highest second week grosser of 2022

The Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 which was released a while back has proved to be unstoppable at the box office. After taking a good start, the business of the film continued to see growth over its opening weekend and first week. Following this Drishyam 2 saw yet another spurt in collections over its second weekend. Now at the close of its second week the film that also features Akshaye Khanna, Tabu and Shriya Saran has managed to draw in a further Rs. 58.82 cr.

In this box office report, we look at the second week collections of Drishyam 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Not surprisingly, with a collection of Rs. 58.82 cr Drishyam 2 has emerged as the fourth highest second week grosser of 2022. Though the film does not manage to surpass previous releases like The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 110.03 cr, KGF – Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 80.18 cr, and RRR which had collected Rs. 76 cr, it does over shadow certain other releases. In fact, the second week business of Drishyam 2 has eclipsed the collections of releases like Brahmastra, which collected Rs. 53.55 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which collected Rs. 49.70 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which collected Rs, 36.33 cr and others.

 

Currently, Drishyam 2 continues to run in theatres with nearly no signs of slowing down. In fact, the film has managed to outlast the competition from the new release Bhediya to emerge as the clear leader at the box office. Given this trend, trade predictions claim that Drishyam 2 will continue its box office journey over its third weekend as well. Currently pegged at Rs. 163.48 cr, the prospects of the film crossing the Rs. 200 cr mark look good.
