Mission Mangal Box Office: The Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal becomes the 3rd Highest opening week grosser of 2019
Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar released last week on Friday. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film took off on a good note with positive reviews. Adding to this, the Independence Day extended weekend greatly boosted the film’s overall collections.
In this box office analysis, we take a look at the opening week collections of Mission Mangal while comparing the same to previous releases of 2019. Collecting Rs. 128.16 cr, Mission Mangal manages to become the third highest opening week grosser of 2019. Though leading the list are previous releases like Bharat that collected Rs. 180.05 cr and Kabir Singh that collected Rs. 134.42 cr, Mission Mangal has managed to surpass the collections of previous releases like Kesari that collected Rs. 105.86 cr, Gully Boy that collected Rs.100.3 cr, Total Dhamaal that collected Rs.94.55 cr, Super 30 that collected Rs. 75.85 cr, Kalank that collected Rs. 73.7 cr, Uri - The Surgical Strike that collected Rs. 70.94 cr, and De De Pyaar De that had collected Rs. 61.05 cr.
As of now, Mission Mangal still remains as the audience’s first choice in theatres, and with no new Bollywood releases hitting screens the Akshay Kumar starrer will continue to dominate the box office. In fact, expectations are that the business of Mission Mangal will cross the Rs. 150 cr mark by the end of its second weekend.
