Aamir Khan REVEALS Tom Hanks is yet to watch Laal Singh Chaddha; says “Paramount team has seen it and liked it so much that they’d like to release the film ALL OVER the world.”

Aamir Khan has finally started promotions of his much-awaited film, Laal Singh Chaddha. As everyone is aware, it is the official remake of the classic film, Forrest Gump (1994). Tom Hanks was the main lead in this film and Aamir reprises his role in the Indianized remake.

During the media interactions recently, Aamir Khan was asked whether he has shown Laal Singh Chaddha to Tom Hanks and whether the Hollywood legend liked it. To which Aamir replied, “I have written to him whether he’s free and whether he would like to watch it. I have received feedback from his agent that they are checking his schedule.”

 

Has anyone else from Forrest Gump’s team seen Laal Singh Chaddha? Aamir Khan revealed, “The Paramount Pictures team has watched the film. They liked the film so much that they insisted that they’d like to release the film all over the world. In India, Viacom18 will be releasing it.”

 

Aamir Khan’s recent films have done blockbuster business in China, unlike any other Indian film. On China release plans, he stated, “Paramount Pictures will be releasing it all over the world. So, they’ll release it in China as well.”

 

In May 2022, Bollywood Hungama had reported that while trying to buy the rights of Forrest Gump, Aamir Khan had met Tom Hanks at Steven Spielberg. Robert Zemeckis, who directed Forrest Gump, has the rights to the film and was unwilling to meet Aamir. Robert Zemeckis held Spielberg in high regard. As a result, Aamir felt that if Steven Spielberg would convince Robert, the latter would part with the remake rights of Forrest Gump.

 

Hence, Aamir Khan met the iconic filmmaker who was then shooting for Bridge Of Spies (2015) in Germany. Interestingly, the film starred Tom Hanks, who played Forrest Gump and whose role Aamir wanted to essay in the remake. Steven Spielberg introduced Aamir to Tom Hanks as ‘James Cameron of India’. This is because according to the filmmaker, just like how James Cameron breaks his own box office records, so does Aamir! Tom Hanks, however, made it clear that he knows Aamir very well. He also admitted that he loved Aamir’s 2009 film 3 Idiots and that he has seen it as many as three times!
