American Music Awards 2021: BTS win Artist of the Year, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift take home Favorite Pop Artist accolades
It's award season already! American Music Awards, hosted by rapper Cardi B, was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 21, 2021, in attendance of the audience. The musicians Olivia Rodrigo and The Weeknd led the nominees for the American Music Awards 2021 with seven and six nominations, respectively.
BTS were nominated in three categories Favorite Pop Duo/Group, Favourite Pop Song for 'Butter' and Artist of the Year and made a clean sweep at the AMAs. It's been an indeed phenomenal year for BTS with back-to-back chart-topping hits, multi-million selling album, and record-breaking moments. This marked the first time a Korean artist/group ever won Artist of the Year at AMAs.
The show witnessed performances from BTS, Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, Chloë, Silk Sonic, Mickey Guyton, Giveon and Jennifer Lopez among others.
