Amitabh Bachchan shares cryptic tweet following Abdul Razzaq’s apology to Aishwarya Rai; says, “This has more meaning than any printed word”

Hours after former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq issued an apology to Aishwarya Rai for his controversial comments regarding the Pakistan cricket team's performance in the 2023 World Cup, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a cryptic post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The controversy unfolded when Razzaq, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, drew a parallel between the improvement of players and the hypothetical idea of marrying Aishwarya Rai to have a good-natured and moral child. This analogy did not sit well with many, leading to widespread criticism and accusations of disrespect towards Aishwarya Rai. Former cricketer Mohammad Yousaf was among those who condemned Razzaq's remarks.

 

Taking to SAMAA TV on Wednesday morning, Abdul Razzaq publicly apologized to Aishwarya Rai in a video that was shared online. In the apology, he clarified, “Yesterday, we were talking about cricket coaching and intentions. I had a slip of tongue and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai’s name. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment.”

 

Amidst these developments, Amitabh Bachchan posted a cryptic tweet featuring the folded hands emoji, accompanied by the message, “.. for this has more meaning than any printed word .. इसका अर्थ छपे हुए काग़ज़ पर लिखित शब्दों से कहीं ज़्यादा.” While the post remains enigmatic, it is unclear whether it is directly related to the events surrounding Abdul Razzaq's comments.

 

 

 

Aishwarya Rai, as of now, has not publicly addressed the controversy or Razzaq's subsequent apology. The unfolding situation has sparked discussions across social media platforms, with fans and followers closely monitoring the reactions from the involved parties.

 

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai last year, which also starred Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra. He has Kalki 2898 AD helmed by Nag Ashwin lined up. It's a sci-fi film that also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The film is simultaneously being shot in Hindi and Telugu. Bachchan will also soon feature in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84. Recently, it was also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will be part of Rajinikanth's upcoming project, Thalaivar 170. In addition to Rajinikanth, the cast of the film includes Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil.
