Anupama: Sudhanshu Pandey talks about the emotional scene between Vanraj and Pakhi; says, “It brought tears in my eyes without any glycerin”

After dabbling in films and television, Sudhanshu Pandey is currently on a career high with the immense fame of Anupama. From playing the unfaithful husband of Anupama to now being an emotional father, friend, and second husband of Kavya, the show has explored several layers of his character Vanraj. The latest one is that of a father where he is trapped between his love for his daughter and his responsibilities towards her. While his character is going through a massive emotional turmoil, in real life, Sudhanshu is quite thrilled after the kind of appreciative responses he has been receiving for his role.

Talking about playing such scenes on screen, he said, “Emotions are always appreciated and touching. You see men who have been angry men and tough guys who are always very overpowering on the people around them. Then when you see that man so vulnerable and emotional, obviously your heart goes to him. That's what I had in mind while playing this character. Especially in this particular track, you can see the daughter, who Vanraj loves so dearly, does something wrong, because of which, he cries and then she cries. They emote their inner-most feelings so beautifully. I don't know but I feel like this moment touched a chord within me and it automatically brought tears in my eyes. I did not even use glycerin. In fact, every time you see me cry, it is real tears. There is something called internalising and that's what I do with most of my characters.”

 

Meanwhile, the actor also spoke like a true father who compared the two generation of kids and spoke about how today’s children are very different from how it was when he was a child. “Today's children are obviously a little more independent, and a little more aware because of the exposure. They know everything as they have everything in their hands. They are so much more aware about things than we were ever in our times. Children are a lot more individualistic,” stated the actor.

 

Ask him what kind of father he is in his real life, and he added, “I'm very tough on the outside but emotional on the inside – so basically, kind of every man in real life.”
