ASTRO members JinJin and Rocky see off MJ as he enlists in the military

As previously announced at the group’s sixth debut anniversary fan meeting, MJ, the oldest member of the group, entered the training center for his basic military training today, on May 9th.

MJ shared a series of photos he took on his way and showed off his new haircut, wishing fans a warm farewell. “A beautiful blue sky on May 9. May it always be filled with light. Written by MLight.” he wrote while also adding the hashtag, “Myungjoon (MJ’s real name) is always by AROHA’s side.” AROHA is ASTRO’s official fan club. As Allkpop tabloid reports, after MJ finishes the basic training, he will serve the rest of his mandatory military service as a member of the music corps.

 

 

 

On the group’s official account, member Rocky shared a video of him bidding farewell to MJ with the caption, “Hyung, come back safely.. I’ll be waiting..” JinJin shared photos of the three of them together along with the message, “AROHA! We sent M hyung off well and have returned to Seoul. Haha. I feel uneasy, but on the other hand, I feel at ease because I was with him together until the end!! Please send lots of support for M hyung so that he can come back safely^^”

 

 

 

 

ASTRO’s staff also shared pictures writing, “Our oldest member MJ who enlisted with a brave attitude. Promising of the day we reunite and bask in purple light, we ask that you send much support to MJ who will return healthily!”
