Ayushmann Khurrana on his desire to work with Fahadh Faasil: “I am a south Indian born in a north Indian family”

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has created a niche for himself over the years by representing unconventional stories on the screen. However, there is still a lot that he wishes to learn. In fact, he recently revealed that he is keen to work in Malayalam films and would be interested in sharing screen space with Fahadh Faasil.

For the unversed, while speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak, Ayushmann was asked if he would like to work in regional cinema. In his quick response, the multi-talented actor said, “Bilkul (absolutely).”

 

Elaborating further, he added, “I am more attracted to South Indian cinema. Sometimes it feels like I am a South Indian born in a North Indian family. I am a huge fan of Malayalam cinema and I would like to work with Fahadh Faasil. He is one of the greatest content creators in the country and he is very inspirational. So, I think that collaboration would be really superb.”

 

Interestingly, the Vicky Donor actor was also asked if he would like to work in a Punjabi film. However, Khurrana politely denied it and asserted that he would choose Malayalam films for now.

 

Well, this is not the first time when the Article 15 actor has expressed his desire of working in the South film industry. Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor had said, “I think we have a lot to learn from down South. They know their audience, and there’s passionate professionalism there.”

 

Coming to his professional front, the 38-year-old actor was last seen in An Action Hero. Directed by Anirudh Iyer, the film also featured critically-acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat. The film, released on December 2, performed poorly at the box office, making it his fourth consecutive flop after Doctor G, Anek and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. He will be next seen in the sequel of his hit film Dream Girl, which is slated to release next year.
