EXCLUSIVE: Fardeen Khan addresses how he handled trolls prior to his comeback; says, “This business teaches you to have thick skin”

Fardeen Khan, who made his comeback with the recent web-series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, underwent extensive physical transformation before he announced his return to the Indian entertainment industry. However, before the same, as photos of the actor being spotted during public appearances on social media, found its way online where he was extensively trolled for his looks. Addressing the same in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen Khan recalled the way he decided to handle the situation.

It was a revelation of sorts. It was like, ‘wow it can go to this extent’. Of course, it was tough. It was a challenging time. But, you know, this business teaches you to have thick skin. You have to, sometimes take a few knocks on the chin. Then again, you got to question how much importance you give everyone's opinion to feel validated yourself. I mean, was I surprised? I wasn't. I had cut off from the industry for many, many years before that. So, I mean, even the fact that I received that kind of attention in itself, surprised me.”

 

He went on to explain the impact it had in his life and how he decided to move on from it as he continued, “Of course, it wasn't positive for me, but it taught me a lot. Yeah, it's a good introduction to this new age that we live in of social media. And after that, I just carried on with my life. I think you can kind of look at it philosophically, or you can look at it humorously, and find humor in it. But then at the end of the day, you can't let it break your spirit and that's something you got to just be focused on - focus on what's within your control, and focus on finding joy.”

 

 

Apart from this, Fardeen Khan is also expected to have some films in the pipeline which includes Visfot along with Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor starrer Khel Khel Mein that was announced recently.
