Kartik Aaryan is all set to hit the screens on June 14 with his upcoming film Chandu Champion. But beyond the film's release, what's creating a buzz is Aaryan's dedication to his character. The actor underwent a significant transformation, not just physically, but also in terms of his lifestyle, to embody the role with authenticity. Helmed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the actor had a belief in them that the film was in safe hands.

Director Kabir Khan, known for his commitment to realism in films, pushed Aaryan to completely transform himself. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kartik Aaryan said, “I was in safe hands, that’s what I believed when I was doing Chandu Champion. I thought that this team really took care of the film that they were making. They go into details of small things that are important for a film like Chandu Champion. I had a belief that I would work harder but I knew this hard work won’t go to waste. They will show this hard work on screen in the same way too. I was convinced that this would happen because it is a Kabir Khan film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. I felt they would be really true to the film, and the journey of the character. It is what you want as an actor. I was really happy that Kabir Khan was trying to make a film like this.”

 

The film's trailer offers a glimpse into Aaryan's dedication. It showcases him diligently training – skipping, jumping, punching, and swimming – his journey mirroring that of an athlete. Khan highlights the significance of this transformation going beyond just aesthetics. Unlike actors who bulk up quickly for a film and lose the muscle mass soon after, Aaryan's transformation is a result of a sustainable lifestyle change. This dedication has not only benefited the film but has also instilled a healthy lifestyle in the actor.

 

Chandu Champion marks Aaryan's first foray into the sports biopic genre. The film portrays the story of a paralympic athlete, Murlikant Petkar.
