EXCLUSIVE: “We weren’t narrated Gadar 2 with Gadar 3 in mind”, reveals Ameesha Patel
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has literally taken the box office by storm. The movie, directed by Anil Sharma, has gone onto earn almost Rs. 420 crores in India in just two weeks. When a film becomes this big in today’s times, it is obvious for the fans to ask for the next movie in the franchise. And in the case of Gadar 2, the climax clearly hinted at the third part with the words “To be continued” coming on the screen.
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel said that they had no idea about the hint for the third part in Gadar 2 until they saw the film. “No one expected. Even me and Sunny Deol did not know. We were not narrated Gadar 2 with Gadar 3 in mind. We came to know when we saw the complete film on August 11 with all of you,” she said.
Speaking about the status of Gadar 3, she added, “People are asking for it. We haven’t had a chat about it. Right now the team is digesting this colossal hit. Sunny and me are still involved in promotions. Even right now, I am on my way to Ahmedabad.”
Ameesha added that as the promotions are still on, she hasn’t had time to hear scripts that she is being offered for future projects. “I was offered films even before Gadar 2 but I didn’t have time. But I am already in talks for a couple of people and I need time to hear the narration. I am literally in different city every day (for the promotions),” she said.
Produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions, Gadar 2 also stars Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa and Simratt Kaur.
