Veteran media person turned debutant director Vinod Kapri is a mighty disturbed man. His film Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho "It is uncalled for to say that cinema halls screening Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho would be burnt" - Vinod Kapri

is in the eye of storm as it is fast gaining the status of the most controversial film of 2015. Though the film's promo has pretty much set

expectations of a satire in the offering, there have been all around objections against it from the Western U.P. zone. Apparently, Khaps are

objecting the film's basic premise, that of a Panchayat ordering a man to marry a buffalo (on charges of raping it in the first place). Soon

enough, there was a call to behead Kapri with a prize announced too, which has shaken him up.

Apparently, all is not well for you and the film with a prize of 51 buffaloes announced in return of your head. Are you actually amused?

I think this objection by Khap is completely uncalled for. They should not judge the film by watching the trailer. There is just one scene in the

film, where one panchayat is ordering that a man (Rahul Bagga) has to marry a buffalo, on the basis of which they have judged the whole film. I

am requesting them to watch the film this Friday; I am quite confident that they would love it. Also, on another note, in India we have one good

institution within our law and that is called the Censor Board. When they have cleared the film and found nothing objectionable, where is this

whole objection coming from?

Isn't it all too distracting when such objections start coming in during the days leading to a film's release?

Of course it is distracting. Last week in particular I was really worried because there were some scary clippings I was going through from some

major newspapers in U.P. They were giving this entire so-called issue a good bit of footage and weight. The kind of statements that they were

making for 4-5 days at stretch glorified the whole thing. They said that they would burn the cinema halls screening my film.

How is the entire bunch of talent that you have managed to put together for the film, Om Puri, Annu Kapoor, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra,

reacting to the film's premise?

As actors, they have completely supported me right through the very inception of the film. During the shoot, they were all together on this. All

of them are amazing actors; their timing is mind blowing. While writing this film, each of these actors was in my mind throughout. I am really

thankful to my producer for pulling out these actors for me. It was really great working with them, especially Om and Annu, who have been in

cinema for 30-40 years.

On the other hand there is a relative newcomer Rahul Bagga (Mastram, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana) who is in the middle of it all. How

has he come across as a performer?

I think Rahul is the find of the film. His performance is completely mind-blowing. He is not just the discovery of the film but for Hindi cinema

also. When you watch the film and see his performance, you would say that too. I was completely surprised by his performance. I would give him

100 out of 100.
