Javed Akhtar and Ali Zafar jam on classic Kishore Kumar song ‘Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main’ in Lahore, watch video

Music will always be a universal language and continues to transcend boundaries. The recent video of lyricist Javed Akhtar and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar jamming on Kishore Kumar's song has made music fans wanting for more interactions among artists. Javed Akhtar was in Lahore to attend the 7th Faiz Festival organized at Alhamra Arts Council. Following the event, Ali Zafar hosted Akhtar for a musical evening where he was seen crooning ‘Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main’, a Hindi song written by Akhtar and crooned by Kishore Kumar in 1984 for the film Mashaal.

The video was shared by Twitter user Haroun Rashid, who is a businessman, with the caption, “Such a rare pleasure and a privilege to have an evening of music and poetry with our brothers and sisters from across the border. The master Javed Akhtar Sahib in Lahore-it doesn’t get better than this.” As Ali Zafar crooned the iconic song, Javed joined him towards the end of the song to sing the hook part.

 

Ali Zafar responded to the tweet by saying, “It was an honour to host him. I have always believed art & music transcends boundaries and is the best way to bring people together. Love is the ONLY way to peace. Thank you @Javedakhtarjadu sahab for gracing us with your presence. Thank you Faiz sahab for keeping us connected.”

 

 

 

The Faiz Festival was a three-day event, which commenced on February 17 and ended on February 19.
