Did you know Janhvi Kapoor's Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan made his debut in Arjun Kapoor's Ishaqzaade?
The year 2018 is going to see many fresh faces on the silver screen. With late actress, Sridevi’s eldest daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak next month, the family including Arjun Kapoor is completely supporting her. The film is being helmed by Shashank Khaitan who has two successful films in past including Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. With Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan as stars, Shashank Khaitan proved his potential as a director. Now, with newbies Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, he plans to create the same magic as before.
But, did you know Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan made his debut in Arjun Kapoor's debut film Ishaqzaade? Yes, it is true. Shashank made his debut in films as an actor and it was Yash Raj Films' romance drama. Speaking about his sister Janhvi's debut in Dhadak and how she is in good hands with Shashank and Karan Johar, he said, "Actually, Shashank Khaitan made his acting debut in Ishaqzaade with me and Parineeti. Very few people know that he danced with me in 'Chokhra Jawaan'. Shashank (Khaitan) is a great director and Ishaan (Khatter) is superb. Based on the trailer, it looks like they have all worked very hard. I hope Jhanvi gets the same love that all the rest of our family members have got."
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Dhadak is a Hindi adaptation of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The film is set to release on July 20, 2018.
