Mira Rajput calls Pippa “Fantastic film”, reviews brother-in-law Ishaan Khatter’s performance: “Target destroyed”
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor couldn't contain her pride after witnessing Ishaan Khatter's outstanding portrayal in his upcoming film, Pippa. The star-studded premiere was attended by industry luminaries and co-stars.
In an Instagram story shared after the premiere, Mira expressed her admiration, labelling Pippa as a "fantastic film with a thumping heart, grit, evocative emotion, and sincerity." Singling out Ishaan Khatter's character, she commended, "So proud of you @ishaankhatter! Target destroyed! Music that thrills & kills!"
As premiere night saw a galaxy of stars, including Mrunal Thakur, Soni Razdan, Ronnie Scewvalla, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan, Aditya Roy Kapur, AR Rahman, and more. Mira shared glimpses of the evening, capturing Ishaan with his team members and creating a buzz on social media.
Speaking of the film, Pippa, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, revolves around the Battle of Garibpur during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. The film explores the pivotal role played by the Indian Army in supporting Bangladesh's fight for independence. Ishaan Khatter essays the character based on Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta from the book 'The Burning Chaffees.’
“It has been a truly incredible journey bringing this story to life. It was a tremendous challenge to adapt to the best qualities of a cavalier from the Indian Army Armoured Corps. With the help of a very capable team, we were privileged to work on this project day and night to bring this very important Indian story to life,” shared Ishaan as he talked about his character in the film.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films, it will start premiere globally on Prime Video on November 10.
