Following a 70-run win over New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup, India entered the Cricket World Cup finals on November 15, 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian Cricket Team made several records on Wednesday evening with Virat Kohli scoring his 50th ODI century, breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record and Mohammed Shami's seven-wicket haul changing the course of the game. While Anushka Sharma was in the stands cheering for her husband on this historic occasion, Kohli was in tremendous form as he scored his 50th ODI century in 106 balls. PM Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and several Bollywood celebs took to social media to congratulate Virat on his record-breaking innings.
