Raveena Tandon recalls the time she and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were fat-shamed

Raveena Tandon is basking in the success of  her last flick, KGF Chapter 2. In a recent interview, Raveena recounted how the media fat-shamed her and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after they gave birth. She claimed she defended herself since they did it "shortly after she had a baby."

 

Raveena Tandon recalls the time she and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were fat-shamed

 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was fat-shamed after the birth of her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011. Speaking in favour of Aishwarya, Raveena had written, "Because everyone's body shape is different, it's okay if she takes her time. Her space is first and foremost her responsibility to her child. Who, other than select media outlets, decides what Ash should do with her child and when? I'm curious if they have the same double standards and hypocrisy as I have.

 

 

 

Raveena recalls Aishwarya being mocked for her weight increase in a recent interview with GoodTimes. She said, "After giving birth to my kid, I acquired a large amount of weight. And I recall a press conference when I first started working where they fat-shamed me and Aishwarya Rai, and I defended her by saying she had just given child.”

 

"As a result, at a press conference, a journalist said, 'Raveena ji, you've gained a lot of weight, you used to be a big deal back then, and now you're doing reality shows’," she explained. "Your weight will vanish, but how will you change your face?" I said.

 

Raveena recently also made her OTT debut with the series Aranyak. She is currently shooting for the film Ghudchadi along with Sanjay Dutt.
