Samantha Ruth Prabhu calls Alia Bhatt a “tigress”, lauds Vedang Raina as she reviews Jigra: "You had me gasping"

Alia Bhatt’s latest film Jigra hit theatres over the weekend. Among the admirers is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently took to social media to express her appreciation for the film, as well as to commend Alia Bhatt and the entire Jigra team.

Samantha’s Heartfelt Praise for Alia Bhatt

On her Instagram Stories, Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a poster of Jigra, pairing it with a glowing note praising Alia Bhatt’s gripping performance. In her message, Prabhu affectionately referred to Bhatt as a "tigress," stating the strength and intensity she brought to her role.

“@aliaabhatt you tigress! A performance so feisty and throbbing with life that I couldn’t take my eyes off you! The brave choices you make… the standards you set for yourself… Keep inspiring!” Samantha wrote, highlighting Bhatt's ability to captivate audiences with her dynamic on-screen presence.

Samantha Applauds the Jigra Crew

Samantha Ruth Prabhu didn’t stop at praising Bhatt alone. She went on to commend the entire Jigra team for their outstanding efforts. She had special words for the film's director, Vasan Bala, appreciating his bold approach to showcasing a female lead. “@vasanbala you’ve made a film so unique and you’ve really pushed the envelope with how to present a female lead! Thank you! Still tripping on the vibe of your film,” Samantha added.

Her praise extended to Vedang Raina for his work on the film, specifically pointing out one particular scene that left a deep impression on her: “@vedangraina what a talent! Going to be looking out for your work. The lashings scene… you had me gasping! So visceral.”

Prabhu also mentioned actor Rahul R, who plays a significant role in Jigra, calling his performance his best to date, and acknowledged the exceptional contributions of the rest of the cast and crew. She wrapped up her note with admiration for Achint Thakkar’s musical score, describing the songs as unforgettable.
