Suriya shoots with Akshay Kumar for the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru in Chennai; shares picture from sets

Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for the remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. Earlier there were reports that Suriya, who played the lead in the original will be doing a cameo in the film. And now the superstar himself has confirmed his cameo in the film with a picture with Akshay Kumar.

On Wednesday, Suriya took to his social media handle to share a picture of himself with Akshay Kumar on the sets of the film. The two stars are seen posing together in front of an aircraft. Suriya is seen leaning on Akshay's chest for the happy picture.

 

"@akshaykumar sir to see you as #VIR was nostalgic! @Sudha_Kongara can see our story beautifully coming alive again #Maara! Enjoyed every minute with team #SooraraiPottru Hindi in a brief cameo," Suriya wrote sharing the picture.

 

“Thank you brother @Suriya_offl Loving every moment shooting for the retelling of an inspirational story like #SooraraiPottru. And being in Chennai is all ♥️ despite our strict captain @Sudha_Kongara !@vikramix," wrote Akshay retweeting the tweet by Suriya.

 

 

Soorarai Pottru starred Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in the lead. The film was partly inspired by events from the life of Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath as described in his memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru is likely to be set in a North India backdrop. While there are rumours of the film being titled Start-Up, the makers are yet to finalize a name for the film.
