A fresh spin-off is set to grace the John Wick universe with the upcoming film, Ballerina. This action-packed thriller introduces a captivating protagonist, Eve Macarro, portrayed by Ana de Armas. Serving as a prequel to John Wick: Chapter 4, Ballerina delves into the origins of Eve's journey as she seeks vengeance against those responsible for the tragic loss of her family.

Directed by Len Wiseman and penned by Shay Hatten, Ballerina promises to deliver a thrilling narrative set against the backdrop of the Ruska Roma's assassin traditions. The film's production is spearheaded by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski, ensuring a continuation of the high-octane action and intricate world-building that fans have come to expect from the John Wick franchise.

 

The trailer offers a glimpse into Eve's relentless pursuit of justice. With her exceptional skills as a ballerina, she transforms into a formidable assassin, wielding her grace and agility to devastating effect. The trailer showcases her prowess in combat, as she effortlessly dispatches her enemies with a combination of martial arts and unconventional weaponry.

 

One of the most intriguing aspects of Ballerina is the reunion between Eve and John Wick himself. Keanu Reeves reprises his iconic role, making a substantial appearance in the film. According to writer Shay Hatten, Wick plays a significant character, offering more than just a cameo.

 

Joining Eve on her quest for vengeance is a supporting cast that includes familiar faces from the John Wick universe. Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, and the late Lance Reddick return to their respective roles, adding depth and continuity to the narrative. New additions to the cast are Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus. The film will release in theatres on June 6, 2025.
