Justin Bieber charges a staggering Rs. 83 crore to perform at Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant's sangeet, arrives in Mumbai from private airport
Canadian popstar Justin Bieber has arrived in Mumbai, India, ahead of his performance at the sangeet ceremony for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding. The upcoming nuptials promise to be a grand affair, and Bieber's presence adds another layer of glamour to the festivities. The ‘Peaches’ singer reportedly landed in Mumbai with a sizeable entourage and tight security. While he didn't acknowledge the paparazzi awaiting him, photos captured his signature style – a pink sweatshirt and a red bucket hat.
As per a Portuguese news outlet, LeoDias, Bieber's performance comes at a premium. The reported cost to bring him to India is a staggering Rs. 83 crore, which translates to roughly $10 million. This will be Bieber's second time performing in India, following his 2017 concert at DY Patil Stadium.
Despite the hefty price tag, the Ambani family seems unfazed. Anant Ambani is the youngest son of India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and his wife Nita Ambani. Marrying Radhika Merchant, daughter of businessman Viren Merchant, on July 12, the couple is set to celebrate their union in grand style.
The sangeet, a pre-wedding musical celebration, will be held on Friday evening at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai. The guest list is expected to include family members, Bollywood A-listers, and other notable figures.
The celebrations kick off on July 12 with the Shubh Vivah, the main wedding ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by adorning themselves in traditional Indian attire.
The celebrations continue on July 13th with the Shubh Aashirwad, a ceremony seeking blessings for the newlyweds. The final event, the Mangal Utsav or wedding reception, takes place on July 14.
