Half the year 2012 has come to an end and so far its been quite a fascinating year for Bollywood with an interesting and diverse mix of films giving us some breath-taking performances. Bollywood Hungamas Nikhil Ramsubramaniam looks back and recounts the Top Male Performances in the first half of 2012.

Note: This list is in no particular order and includes performances from films released between Jan 1 and June 30.

Hrithik Roshan, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in Agneepath

Its hard to pick just one good performance in Karan Malhotras modern-day spin-off of the cult classic Agneepath. Hrithik Roshan, like he does always, completely got into the skin of the character giving Vijay Dinanath Chauhan an unique identity of his own. Its no mean feat playing a character immortalized by none other than Big B and if anybody could have done justice to it, its Hrithik. If Hrithik epitomized good, then Sanjay Dutt gave evil a whole new meaning with his menacing act as Kancha. The actor went bald and his scary demeanor gave many sleepless nights. Surely this is among Dutts deadliest performance till date. Last but not the least was the new character in this modern day Agneepath- Rauf Lala. Hats off to Karan Malhotra for envisioning that someone like Rishi Kapoor could play this wicked character of a butcher who also indulges in flesh trade! Rishi, who has been the lover-boy for all his career, took up the challenge and emerged triumphant yet again with a performance that will be remembered forever.
