Bholaa: Karthi confesses he can’t wait to watch Ajay Devgn in the Hindi version of Kaithi; opens up about working with him in Yuva

Karthi is currently riding high as the actor is thrilled with the response he has been receiving for Ponniyin Selvan aka PS 1 in which he plays the role of Vanthiyathevan. The actor, who received a lot of appreciation for the 2019 blockbuster Kaithi, is happy to see it being remade in Hindi. The Hindi version titled Bholaa will not only feature Ajay Devgn as the lead but it will also have the actor directing it. This film will mark his fourth directorial and also features his friend-actress Tabu in a pivotal role.

Speaking about Ajay Devgn playing his role as a prisoner in Bholaa, actor Karthi spoke to PTI sharing, "A lot of people called me and they wanted to buy the rights to Kaithi, but then Ajay sir was the first one to get it. I'm really glad that he is doing the Hindi remake and he is directing it as well.” The actor asserted that he would be doing justice to the film.

 

Furthermore, Karthi also revealed about how he has worked with the star in the past. He went on to recall about the time he worked as an assistant director in Yuva which featured Ajay Devgn as one of the leads along with Vivek Oberoi and Abhishek Bachchan. He said, "When I worked in Yuva as an assistant director, I saw him perform up close. I have always loved the intensity in his eyes and the way he is relaxed when he's performing a scene. He brings a certain intensity to all the characters that he plays. I also love when he does action. When he came in Gangubai Kathiawadi, I was clapping. So I know when he's going to play my character in Bholaa, he'll do an entirely different job."

 

Karthi also gave his consent to all the creative changes that will be added in the Hindi version. "I'm looking forward to seeing what will be the take that he's going to give. I'm sure he'll have some changes to it, creatively, and he will explore it more. So I'm very eager to watch Bholaa."

 

He also spoke about being a fanboy of Tabu. As for the film Kaithi, it featured him in the role of a prisoner who is tasked with the job of helping poisoned officers reach hospital in exchange for his freedom. Kaithi released on October 25, 2019 and Bholaa is expected to hit the big screens in the first half of next year.
