September is going to be dry due to lack of big releases. But the last Friday of the month might turn out to be an exciting one, thanks to Devara Part – 1. Its much awaited trailer was unveiled on September 10 in a grand event in Mumbai and it added to the awareness and hype surrounding the Pan-India film. It has now come to light that the makers completed the censor process well in time and have made the cuts asked by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

As per the cut list, the makers had to make 4 modifications. Three of these changes are related to the violent scenes in the film. A scene of a character kicking his wife was modified. The visual of the character directly kicking in the stomach was asked to be removed. In another scene in the second half, a character kicks his mother and a similar modification is asked to be made.

Thirdly, a five-second shot of a person's body hanging on a sword and further sliding down the weapon was asked to be removed entirely. Finally, the money shot of Jr NTR riding on the shark has come under the censor scanner. The CBFC asked the makers to mention through a ticker that the shark is CGI-generated.

Once these changes were made, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers of Devara Part – 1. It has been passed with a U/A certificate and its run time is 178.03 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours 58 minutes and 3 seconds long.

Besides Jr NTR, Devara Part – 1 also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Koratala Siva, this action entertainer will be released in the original Telugu version as well as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on September 27, 2024.
