First look of Ajith starrer Valimai to not release on May 1; producer Boney Kapoor releases statement
Tamil superstar Ajith's upcoming film Valimai is one of the most anticipated films and fans have been eagerly awaiting for an official update of the film with a poster reveal or a teaser. On Friday, filmmaker Boney Kapoor who is producing the film said that the first look of the film will not be released on May 1 as promised earlier. The makers had earlier said that Valimai's first look will be released on Ajith's 50th birthday which falls on May 1.
Owing to the massive surge in COVID-19 cases, the makers have decided to hold onto the first look release of the film. On Friday, Boney Kapoor released a statement on his social media handles. “We had announced that we would be releasing the First Look of our film “Valimai” on May 1, 2021 to coincide with Shri Ajith Kumar’s 50th birthday. At the time of making the announcement, none of us had even anticipated that the 2nd wave of Corona Virus would spread across India like a tsunami. At this moment, lakhs of Indians are affected by financial hardship and emotional trauma due to loss of family members and friends," the release read.
“At this critical juncture, Zee Studios & Bayview Projects along with the Artists’ and Technicians of our film “Valimai” have decided to postpone the first look release of our film to a later date. Let us all join hands and pray for everyone’s well-being and safety," it further read.
Valimai also stars Huma Qureshi and Kartikeya Gummakinda. Directed by H Vinot, the film will see Ajith play the role of a cop.
