Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 to be dropped? Here’s the truth

Kamal Haasan's film Indian 2 has been facing hurdles since the beginning. A few months ago, there was a fatal accident on the set causing the death of three. The film was also facing some production issues and the lockdown has made it worse. With uncertainty looming over when shoots can resume, this has put the entire cast and crew in trouble.

Now, it is speculated that the makers of the film, Lyca Productions, have decided to drop the project owing to the loss incurred. One also hears that there is a rift between Kamal Haasan and the producers after the crane accident on the set. It is also being reported that director S Shankar has lost interest in the film and has moved on to his next film.

 

However, talking to a web portal, the spokesperson of Lyca Productions clarified that the project has not been dropped. He said that they have completed 60 percent of the shoot and are planning to resume once the lockdown is over. As per reports, an official statement regarding the same is expected to come in the coming days.

 

Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is the sequel of his blockbuster film, which was released in 1996. Touted to be a political thriller, the film also features Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Vivekh in pivotal roles.
