Karthik Subbaraj reviews Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan; calls it ‘intense social drama’

Vettaiyan released amid much hoopla on October 10 and considering that the film had many exciting elements including a reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan on the big screen after three decades, the film garnered much attention from fans. With its release on Thursday, several thoughts and opinions started pouring in on social media as fans began to react to the superstar’s massy entertainer that boasts of being a starry affair. Now, dropping his review on the same is filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj.

Readers would be aware that the director recently wrapped up his film with Suriya, which is being referred to as Suriya 44. After completing work on the same, Karthik Subbaraj decided to catch on the week’s much awaited release Vettaiyan and shared about his thoughts on social media wherein he not only appreciated the film but also the performance of the beloved Thalaivar Rajinikanth. “#Vettaiyan is an intense social drama with strong statement about the Judiciary filled with Superb Thalaivar moments..... (hand emojis) Thalaivar was on (fire emojis) from the first frame.... <3<3”.

 

Speaking about the performances, Karthik added, “It was treat to watch Thalaivar & Amitabh Bachchan sir on screen.... Fahadh Faasil as Battery was Fun.....  Anirudh Ravichander rocked it as usual”. “Congratulations TJ Gnanavel, Lyca Productions and whole cast n crew for delivering such a intense subtle Thalaivar film....” he concluded the review and signed off with clap emojis.

 

 

Coming to the film, Vettaiyan was in news for its unique star cast ensemble that brought together Rajinikanth with Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati for the first time. The film also had Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Abhirami, Rao Ramesh, among many others playing key roles.
