Prithviraj Sukumaran completes 13 years of marriage: Here’s how Mumbai played a major role in his love story with Supriya Menon

While we have seen Prithviraj Sukumaran romancing heroines on screen, his off screen romance with journalist Supriya Menon too can be called ‘equally filmy’. The couple, who are celebrating their 13th wedding anniversary on April 25, actually fell in love against the backdrop of the picturesque city of Mumbai. As the actor and his wife wished each other on this special day on social media, we decided to recall the story narrated by Prithviraj himself during a recent interaction for Aadujeevitham promotions.

In an interview with Mashable India, Prithviraj Sukumaran recalled the time he fell for Supriya Menon. It seems that the journalist connected with the actor for a story she was working on about the Malayalam industry for a television network.  And that kicked off a friendship where they had frequent telephonic conversations. However, their actual journey of love didn’t begin until he started making visits to Mumbai which later transitioned into them dating.

 

He also opened up about how Mumbai played a key role in their love story and added, “I fell in love with my now wife then-girlfriend, who was working out of Bombay.  while we were dating, we started reading ‘Shantaram’ together. I was in Kerala when I read the book and I was so infatuated with the city that I told her listen. I’m going to come there. You’ll take me to all the places that Gregory David Roberts so beautifully described in the book.” He also recalled visiting places like Haji Ali and the fishermen’s village in Worli during his dating days.

 

This year, on April 25, the couple took to social media to shower their love on each other and wish anniversary in a special post. Prithiviraj Sukumaran took to his Instagram page and shared a photo with wife Supriya Menon and wrote, “Happy anniversary partner! From being friends to the parents of an incredible little girl, this has been one hell of a ride! To dreaming bigger and taking on tougher battles, can’t wait to see where this journey takes us in the years to come!”

 

 

On the other hand, his wife Supriya too added, “13 years with you! Wow! From being kids when we met to now being parents of a wonderful little girl! How far we have walked together on this road that’s been rocky many a time! And yet here we are! Happy 13th anniversary @therealprithvi. To many more years together where we push each other to achieve our dreams & live our best lives!”

 

 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who last featured in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as the antagonist, is busy directing his highly-anticipated film L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal in the lead, a sequel to the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer.
